Theater Summer Camp Long Island Camp Rock

WHAT A TYPICAL DAY AT SUMMER CAMP LOOKS LIKE!

9:00 AM – Morning Drop-Off & Warm-Ups
Campers arrive and start the day with fun, guided warm-ups designed to build confidence, focus, and ensemble energy.

9:30 AM – Morning Performing Arts Classes
Each morning features a rotating schedule of exciting performing arts classes, including acting, singing, moviemaking, and other creative disciplines. Campers develop performance skills while collaborating, exploring, and having fun in a supportive environment.

12:00 PM – Lunch & Social Time
Campers enjoy a supervised lunch break with time to relax, connect with friends, and recharge for the afternoon ahead.

12:45 PM – Camp Rock Rehearsals
Each afternoon is dedicated to rehearsals for our fully staged production of Disney’s Camp Rock: The Musical. Campers work with professional teaching artists on music, choreography, scenes, and staging as the show comes together week by week.

2:45 PM – Wrap-Up & Dismissal
The day winds down with notes, reflections, and announcements before dismissal at 3:00 PM.

WHAT YOUR CHILD WILL GAIN:

Our campers don’t just put on a show — they grow as performers and as people.

Confidence On and Off the Stage
Through daily performance work and supportive coaching, campers build self-confidence, stage presence, and the courage to take creative risks.

Training Across Multiple Performing Arts
Morning classes expose campers to acting, singing, moviemaking, and more, giving them a well-rounded performing arts experience while discovering new interests and strengths.

Teamwork & Collaboration
Producing a full musical teaches responsibility, cooperation, and respect. Campers learn how to work as part of an ensemble toward a shared goal.

Real Rehearsal & Performance Experience
Afternoon rehearsals mirror a professional rehearsal process, helping campers understand what it takes to mount a fully staged production from start to finish.

A Sense of Accomplishment
Performing Disney’s Camp Rock: The Musical for a live public audience is a powerful, unforgettable achievement — one campers will be proud of long after summer ends.

All instruction is age-appropriate, encouraging, and led by experienced teaching artists in a safe, supportive environment where every camper is valued.

WHO THIS CAMP IS FOR:

Summer camp at Lawton Academy is designed for children and teens ages 5–18, from beginners discovering the performing arts for the first time to experienced young performers looking for a deeper, more immersive summer theater experience.

  • No prior experience required

  • Campers are grouped thoughtfully by age and experience when appropriate

  • Instruction is encouraging, inclusive, and age-appropriate

Our program is also a great fit for campers who are excited to work behind the scenes and learn how a musical comes together from a technical and creative standpoint. In addition to performing, campers are introduced to the essentials of lighting, sound, props, costumes, staging, and production, gaining hands-on insight into everything it takes to mount a fully staged musical.

Whether your child dreams of being center stage or prefers contributing behind the scenes, summer camp at Lawton Academy offers meaningful roles and learning opportunities that celebrate every kind of theater kid.
