Music Classes

Lawton Academy offers two music classes: Musical Theater Blast for singers 8-18, and Music with Mommy for little ones 1-3 years old.  Read on to learn about the classes and register!

MUSICAL THEATER BLAST

For singers who have a passion for musical theater!

This course is for young people with a spring in their step and passion for show tunes! It’s for students who love acting and singing in equal measure and adore how both come together magically in musical theater. Across the course of our 7-week session, students will explore:

  • Fun vocal exercises that develop the quality and strength of each student’s singing voice.
  • Different styles of music – from slow ballads, to rollicking show tunes.
  • Duet and Trio Performance – classic show tunes taught in small groups (for adv. students only).
  • Ensemble Performance – chorus work incorporating singing and dance that brings the entire class together.
    • Parents are welcomed to the final class to enjoy a showcase of student performances.
SCHEDULE:

Class is held once per week across our 7-week session.

  • GROUP A: FRIDAYS 4PM-6PM. $630/session

MUSIC WITH MOMMY (OR DADDY!)

For little ones 1-3 who are excited to dance, play and make music!

A special music class for your little one to enjoy with Mommy or Daddy. Our twice weekly class lets your child play and dance (and allows Mommy to exhale while we take the reins!) A variety of music is introduced and a variety of instruments, too. And each class is capped off with a dance party under our bubble machine! Across the course of our 7-week session, the kids will explore:

  • Dancing and movement to music both live and recorded
  • Percussive drums that introduce the child to beat and rhythm
  • A variety of musical instruments with unique sound and pitch
  • Fun games involving props and toys we’ll provide
  • Interacting and making friends with other children of similar age
  • And, just as importantly, parents will have the opportunity to make friends with other parents who live locally!
    • Note that at least one parent or guardian must be present at every class that child attends.
SCHEDULE:

Music with Mommy is for little ones 1-3 years old.  Classes are held twice per week across a 7-week session. (14 classes total).

  • TUESDAY 9:30AM [60-MIN] & FRIDAY 9:30AM [60-MIN]. $ 560/session
