Filmmaking Classes

We currently offer two filmmaking programs – our Movie Making for Kids class, and our Teen Filmmaker’s Club. Read on below to learn about both and register!

MOVIE MAKING FOR KIDS

For kids 9-12 who love to make movies, or want to learn how!

This class meets once per week for two hours. Over the course of the 10-week session, our young movie makers will learn:

How to operate a movie camera.
How to add lighting to make a scene look Hollywood great!
Basic sound recording techniques
How to plan and organize for a movie shoot
How to film in a green screen TV studio
Removing green backgrounds and making new worlds by inserting virtual ones
Basic film editing techniques
How to color correct and totally change the look of your movie
How to layer music into your movie and bring it to life!
- Parents are welcomed to the final class to enjoy a premiere screening of the scenes produced during the session.

SCHEDULE:

GROUP A: WEDNESDAYS 5-7PM. $900/session

TEEN FILMMAKER'S CLUB

For teenagers who are longing to learn all about the filmmaking process!

Taught by a member of The Producer’s Guild of America, this course meets 3-hrs weekly for ten weeks and is for teens with a yearning to learn all about the filmmaking process. Over the course of the session, students will learn:

How to operate professional 4K cinema cameras
How lenses work and how lens selection affects the look of a shot
Basic lighting technique
Basic audio/sound recording technique
How to plan and schedule for an upcoming shoot
Techniques for filming striking b-roll on location
How to produce a documentary-style interview
How green screen studio production works
Basic film editing techniques
Image color correction and audio mixing techniques
How to select then integrate music into your edit
- Parents are welcomed to the final class to enjoy a premiere screening of the scenes produced during the session.
